Foodways: Foraging Walk
Below, are photos from an foraging walk that took place at Tryon Creek, a local park. The purpose? To give participants an introductory experience to foraging for wild food and medicine. The 2-hour foraging walk was led by Erika Ironwood of Craft & Cauldron. She introduced participants to a variety of wild edible and medicinal plants that grow in our back yards.
Erika has been a forager and herbalist for 17 years and has been teaching publicly for five years. She is committed to demystifying foraging and to encouraging stewardship of wild places in the Pacific NW. For more information about foraging check out her website:
